BTC member finishes 10th in age group at IronMan 70.3 California

BRIDGEWATER TRIATHLETE COMPETES IN IRONMAN 70.3 CALIFORNIA — FINISHES 10TH IN AGE GROUP

[Saturday March 29, 2008] - Local triathlete Cliff Worden-Rogers competed at the Ford Ironman 70.3 in Oceanside California on Saturday May 29th finishing 10th in his age group and 163rd overall.

This was his fourth triathlon and only his second 70.3 distance event.

Cliff started with the Bridgewater Triathlon Club.

  • distance: 1.2 mi. swim • 56 mi. bike • 13.1 mi. run
  • this event was held at Oceanside, California on 2008-03-29

  • a unique race features a harbor swim at Oceanside Harbor, a one-loop bike ride on neighboring Camp Pendleton, and a two-loop run along the ocean along the world famous Strand in Oceanside

Bike - Sunday Ride - May 4 - 10am - Superstore

Date: Sunday May 4, 2008

Start time: 10am

Start location: Bridgewater Superstore parking lot

Route: Lahave — down east side, ferry, stop at the  ‘Bakery’, return.  About 40kms

Difficulty: easy/moderate

Notes: The Parkview 5K running race starts at 1pm, so anyone participating in that race will be back at the Superstore no later than 12:15.

Sunday Ride - April 27.08 - 10:30am - Superstore

Date: Sunday April 27, 2008

Start time: 10:30am

Start location: Bridgewater Superstore parking lot

Route: Lahave — down one side, ferry, stop at the  ‘Bakery’, return.  About 40kms

Difficulty: easy/moderate (unless you try to stay on the wheel of some young, strong riders ;-)

Notes: For anyone interested, there will be some hillwork starting at 9:30am - warm-up then 3-5 trips up Aberdeen

Sunday Ride - April 20.08 - 10:30am in Mahone Bay

Start location: Mahone Bay Save Easy parking lot

Route: out to Indian Point, back thru Mahone Bay to Second Peninsula.  Approx. 55kms

Difficulty: easy pace with just a few small hills

Notes: You’re welcome to join us after the ride for lunch at the Biscuit Eater.
