NOTE : The Wednesday night practises have been extended until Wed Sep 17.
Be sure to follow all safety rules. Always wear your certified bike helmet while in possession of your bike. Obey all rules of the road. Ride single file, complying with the draft zone. Upon return dismount your bike on the right side of the road and cross only when safe to do so. Run on the left side of the road, go to the shoulder with oncoming traffic.

Here’s a few shots from the Highland Challenge. They had a record turnout for this event. It was well run and chip timed.

This shot speaks volumes. It helped to have local knowledge or to test out the currents before the race. there was a side current here going from right to left which explains why a lot of swimmers took an exaggerated arcing line in towards the finish buoy on shore.

44th Annual Bert Corkum Memorial 5 Mile Road Race

The Bert Corkum Memorial 5 Mile Road Race is hosted by the Bluenose Striders Running Club in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the Lunenburg High School, Lunenburg.
The single loop course follows a scenic route through rural Lunenburg County with two hills near the end. There will be one water stop on the course.
The event is low key and informal. The entry fee is $5.00, with ALL registration on the race day.
Please arrive early for registration. There are prizes for the overall winners and age groups winners.
There will be showers and refreshments for all after the race at the Lunenburg High School.
