2008 Riverport Duathlon wrap-up
We held our 3rd Annual Riverport Duathlon on Sunday October 19th. Despite the cool early morning temperatures, over 100 athletes participated in the two race distances. (Andrew Dacanay from TNS says the RD is the largest duathlon in Nova Scotia — who are we to argue with a TNS official ?!?)
The Classic race proved to be a hotly contested event as the lead changed hands after the first run, again by the end of the bike with the lead changing yet again, during the final run.
The new Do-a-DU race was a popular addition and over half of the participants were from the local area.
Many thanks to all of the volunteers, sponsors and supporters. It takes a large group effort to put on this type of event and we are very fortunate to have such fantastic support.

Derryl and I had such a fun time participating in the DU. As novices at multisport events, we appreciated the friendly mix of competitors, supporters and organizers. Thanks to all who helped make it happen.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Do-a-Du. Looking forward to next year. I realize it was a lot of work. I hope to be a BT/Strider member for he 2009 season, so will keep checking your site for start up events/training.
