2008 was a busy year at the BTC. Some of the hilites:

Winter Swim Program - from January thru April, we conducted a winter swim program at the emOcean pool. Many thanks to Colin Edwards who provided coaching and instruction.

Spring Tri-camps - a club first. Two, all day tri-camps to kick start the season attended by newcomers and verterans.

Fancy Lake - starting in May, our traditional program got underway with a ‘brick’ workout on Wednesday nights, complimented with a Friday night swim later in June once the lake warmed up. Magical!

Interval Training - new this year, a three hour interval practice coached by Colin Edwards.

Races - 90% of our members participate in races. Rougly 60% do Sprint distance triathlons (750 meter swim / 20 kilometer bike / 5 kilometer run) with 40% participating in Olympic distance events (1500 meter swim / 40 kilometer bike / 10 kilometer run). Members also are/will be participating in longer distance events.

Club Race - the Riverport Duathlon - this was the 3rd running of our club race — the Riverport Duathlon. We added a new race distance — Do-a-DU — suitable for first timers. We are very fortunate to have a strong team of volunteers and receive excellent support from the RCMP and our sponsors.
