Run Nova Scotia – 2009 Race Series

Races with a (T) are on the Timex series

Note that there are eight races on the Timex series this year and that you have to run four of eight to qualify for selection for Team Nova Scotia.

Open Swim#2 – Apr – Jun – 9 weeks

Duration: once per week for 9 weeks

Date: Sunday April 19 – Jun 14, 2009

Time: 6-7pm

Location: emOcean pool, Lunenburg. [ more ]

Description: An uncoached, open swim.  Its a good opportunity to work at your own pace on the sets from the Wednesday night swims.

Cost : $50 or $6.50 per swim

Coached Swim#2 – Apr – Jun – 10 weeks

Duration: once per week for 10 weeks

Date: Wednesday April 8 to June 10, 2009

Time: 6-7pm

Location: emOcean pool, Lunenburg. [ more ]

Description: A structured workout (warm-up, drills, main sets and cool-down) coached by Colin Edwards that should be of interest to people that want to build their fitness level as we head into the race season.

Cost : $85

Status: Full – please add to the wait-list

Notes:

  • for BTC members

  • participants would benefit by swimming at least once more per week

2009 Tuesday Fieldhouse Bike-Run

Date : Tuesdays until April 28, 2009

Time : 6-8pm

Location : HB Studios Sports Centre (Fieldhouse), Bridgewater, Nova Scotia

Cost : fee is for the use of the Fieldhouse track — $2/visit, no charge if you have a Fieldhouse pass

Description : an informal bike – run workout.  A good opportunity for interval work.

Notes:

  • open to everyone
  • participate at your own risk
  • this is not a Bridgewater Triathlon Club practice
  • the BTC has 3 bike trainers available for the use of members

  • objective: practice Wednesday night sessions at your own pace

  • objective: preparation for the race season

Also, Neil Clarkson will be available to help any new swimmers that would like some one-on-one assistance with their swimming (Thanks Neil!)  One of the three lanes will be available for this purpose.
