Aerobics First hosts tri-nite – Fri Jun 19

Jeremy Law from Aerobics First writes …

We are coordinating, our first ever Triathlon Buy Night! Along with the help of the individuals (and characters) of Triathlon Nova Scotia, the various clubs of the province, and triathlon related brands we hope to create a dynamic, social, and fun night for triathletes of all ages, sizes, and experience

The idea is, in keeping with the triathlon theme, three fold:

  • Outfit all Nova Scotia triathletes in the necessary clothes, shoes, wetsuits, accessories to make their 2009 competitive or recreational triathlon season a comfortable, strong, and good looking one! At a discount, of course!
  • Create an exclusive, fun, high energy night in the early season so that all members of all clubs can meet and reacquaint with eachother so that you might just receive a few more ‘Looking goods!’ on the courses of our province this summer.
  • Share with eachother the trends (Aerobics First to athlete), needs (athlete to Aerobics First), questions (athlete to Aerobics First and brand representatives), and direction of triathlon in Nova Scotia and the Maritimes, thus ensuring a positive future of growth and fun for this crazy sport!

Look forward to:

  • 20% Off Storewide! (excluding energy gels and hydration systems – 10% off offered on orders of boxes)
  • 20% Off NINETEEN Wetsuits (as compared to the usual 10% for TNS Members)
  • WINE, BEER, SODA & Pizza and Cheese (that should be enough to get Mark Campbell out…)
  • Senior store staff, community triathlon gurus, and brand representatives to answer questions regarding gear and/or shoes
  • Slide show of new and recommended products for triathlon available to buy or order from Aerobics First
  • Sample energy gels and hydration systems from Carboom Energy Gels
  • NS Triathlon Race directors and on hand to discuss and talk about their own events

Date:

  • Friday, June 19
  • 6 PM – 9 PM

Apres-Tri Buy Party:  If that’s what you’re into –and if you’re not putting in a big effort run or bike on Saturday AM– head down to the tri-friendly Split Crow for a few more cold ones and some live music. You’ve gotta party some time, right! Might as well be early season and while you’re still excited about the prospect of using all of your spare time for training and sleeping (and working, and parenting)

RSVP! to ecskiing@gmail.com so that we might prepare enough food and drink and staff for all!

Prizing!

All attending will fill out a entry ballot when you arrive at our shop.  We will do a draw for all prizing after the evening is complete and email out to all the big winners! This way, you can come and go as you please and not worry about missing the prize draw. Socialize away without interruption… keep your fingers crossed for your name to be on the winner’s list in the following days!   Potential for prizing from Sugoi, New Balance, Smith, various race directors in attendance, Centenial Pool, Dalplex, Maritime Campus Services, Nineteen Wetsuits, Cyclesmith, Fuel Belt, Timex, Saucony, Triathlon Nova Scotia, Therapeutic Approach Yoga Studio, Bramoso Gourmet Pizzaria, Balega Socks, Smartwool, Mizuno, Triathlon Canada Magazine, Optimyz Magazine, Brooks, Asics, The Split Crow, Carboom Energy, Oakley (a pair of glasses!)
Seriously!

Triathlon Club welcomes newcomers

[BRIDGEWATER, NS] – June 8, 2009 — The Bridgewater Triathlon Club’s summertime practice at the Fancy Lake Picnic Park is underway on Thursday nights.  Returning triathletes use it as part of their weekly conditioning program.  For newcomers, it’s an opportunity to check out multi-sports like triathlon (swim-bike-run) and duathlon (run-bike-run) in a safe and supportive environment.  Anyone interested in multi-sport is welcome to come out to watch or participate.

The provincial multi-sport race season has just started.  Tammy Slauenwhite was the sole club member to participate in the Lawrencetown Duathlon.  The first triathlon in the race series will be held at Shearwater with 14 club members signed up.  The bike portion of the Shearwater race is on the runway!

Parents — South Shore Kids of Steel takes place on July 1st from the DesBrisay Museum/Outdoor Pool.  It is a great way to introduce children to an active lifestyle.  Many of our club members assist the Bridgewater Parks and Rec (543-2274 to register) with this very popular and enjoyable event

Once again this year, we’d like to thank the driver’s along the Conquerall Mills Road for their attention and patience on Thursday nights between 6:30 and 8:00pm.  The road can get busy with cyclists, runners and vehicles.

For more details about the club and upcoming events, please visit : www.bridgewatertriclub.com
